“Mortgage Servicing Companies Aren’t Very Helpful”

“Mortgage Servicing Companies Aren’t Very Helpful”

Hey Joe, Just wanted to pick your brain for a minute if that’s ok. After we last spoke, I got on the phone with Nationstar Mortgage and explained to them that I had contacted the CFPB like you told me to. Nationstar did their research and said they had not reported it, and that I should try Dovenmuele because that is who serviced the loan before them. After more closely looking at my credit report, it shows Dovenmuele next to the “foreclosure” for one of the credit reporting agencies. I’ve been trying to work with Dovenmuele but now they are trying to push it back on Nationstar. Needless to say, I am super frustrated and although the lender for my new property has been understanding in the delay, they are growing impatient too. Any other suggestions on how to get Dovenmuele to move any faster?

Thanks for any words of wisdom that you can offer!

Most folks are often intimidated or easily flustered when speaking to their mortgage servicers. I always advise clients to threaten to contact the CFPB (consumer financial protection bureau) if they don’t get satisfaction. So often they talk in circles or talk down to the caller. I don’t allow it for my clients!
