Joe, I was a bit surprised to say the least, but delighted with the interest rate you locked us in at. As you well know I contacted a number of local banks to do some rate shopping, but you said that was great. I guess I still don’t understand how your jumbo rate was a quarter of a percent lower than anything we were told.
I have shared your contact information with a couple of friends that are presently home shopping, work your magic as well for them.
I don’t usually get a lot of rate shoppers, but this was not the case with these clients. I usually tell prospective clients that are shopping the following: “If rate is the only reason you are contacting me, then I am not the right mortgage broker for you”.
These clients indicated that they had been referred by a co-worker, so I continued the conversation even though they indicated they were rate shopping.
They shared the information I needed such as purchase price, loan amount, income, credit and so on. Fortunately, as a mortgage broker I can do my own shopping, so when I communicated back to them and told them what the rate would be for them, to say the least they were blown away.
