“Unfortunately Closing Costs are a Problem”




Thank you for handling the pre-qualification so quickly and for sending me the referral for the home inspector. Could you refer a real estate agent as well?  Although the lady I spoke to was nice enough, it doesn’t sound like she will be helpful in negotiating prices with closing costs being paid by Seller, since she was the one that had told me that "if the Seller gets the rate they are asking" is when they will agree to pay closing costs...so, to me it doesn’t sound like she’s much into negotiating pricing? I could be wrong, but if you know of someone who will DEFINITELY go to bat for me in that respect as well, then it wouldn’t hurt to talk to them... I haven’t signed any paperwork with any agents nor been shown any properties. I just called her because she was the listing agent on that home I was interested in that is closing on Wed.

Originally, I explained that a Realtor will represent their clients to the best of their ability and act in their best interest but for whatever reason, trust was not established between them.  Without a good trust level, it is very hard for folks to work together.


I gave her a referral and hopefully they will be able to establish a better working relationship.

That's great you were able to provide her with the name of a realtor, and very good that they knew enough to ask.

I always advice buyers that they pay closing costs regargless of negotiations. It is just a question of do you want to pay cahs or finance them?
