"Bar Stool Economics."

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

∙ The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.

∙ The fifth would pay $1.

∙ The sixth would pay $3.

∙ The seventh would pay $7.

∙ The eighth would pay $12.

∙ The ninth would pay $18.

∙ The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

Good morning Joe - maybe when you explain it that way some people might understand this tax system.

I think you will find a better reception here to the bar stool tax explanation than Sarah Huckabee did at the white House

Good morning Joe,

I would be stopping at the liquor store and go home after the first time.

I always think of: "It's a bird, its a plane no look it is the handful looking for the government to take care of the problem"!

Where is Superman when you need him!

Make yourself an astonishing day.

A great example of the idiocy of our taxation system.  But I'm ready for another beer regardless of whose buying!!!!!!!

As much money as I make the first round is on me. I can afford it and I don't mind paying my fair share.

Well, the heaviest drinker can afford to pay it all. Because all he needs is your company ... cheers!
