“I Made a Mistake the First time”

“I Made a Mistake the First time”

I always tell my clients the following, “When I refer someone to you, the referral may not be a good fit. If that happens to be the case, let me know immediately and I will refer someone else. I promise not to be offended”.

I always want to think that the person I refer will work out based on the expectation of the other person but that doesn’t always happen. I have heard every imaginable reason why it wasn’t a good fit, but the reasons don’t matter. What is important is that I’ve told them of the possibility and if it’s not a good fit, they will usually let me know:

Do me a favor, can you refer a different agent, our personalities don’t mix that well. She seems to be directing us rather than listening to what we want.

Joe: Not all matches are able to light a fire. Good to move on early in the process if there is not a mesh.

Hi Joe.  It doesn't happen all that often, but it does from time to time.  It's good to let folks know of the potential and have a back up.

Good morning, Joe Petrowsky I've always said that referrals are a crap shoot.... if you don't hit with the first roll, you keep on rolling....

It is tricky business referring folks.  You never know how it is going to reflect on you in the long run.

This is a very good story to share. Sometimes, referrals are not a good match.

Joe Petrowsky It is good that they don't hold the bad fit against you. Usually people say nothing but move on alone.

Joe you are right, the reason does not matter, what matters is to create the right fit.

Hi Joe -- it's a referral not a guarantee -- it's wise to let clients know upfront that the possibility that not everything or everyone may be the right match.   You have the resources to find an alternative should there be a need.

You make an excellent point, which makes sense to have lots of great people you can refer, and prsonalities do clash.  A
