“Realtor in Her Late 70’s Still Going Strong”

“Realtor in Her Late 70’s Still Going Strong”

Joyce still sends me 1-2 clients per month. She loves what she does, is always enthusiastic and always works to do the best job possible for her clients. We have worked together for over 30 years and she is still just as enthusiastic about what she loves to do.

It seems that each and every time she refers a client she is always thanking me for taking good care of them. She is such a delight to work with!

Thank you Joe!

Always good to work with you again. Please let me know if you need anything else. We are complete with home inspections and everything went well. The only thing that came up was evidence of past power post beetles and they recommend a treatment or paperwork. The Sellers have the paperwork as they were on an annul plan with Terminix.

I will send you copies of both.

Good morning Joe.  I am knocking on the door of 70.  I plan to go on another 10 or 20 years God willing.

One of the great things about being a real estate broker, is that I don't think I'll ever totally retire and twiddle my thumbs...

I'm hoping I'll still be zipping around in my late 70s (and later). Good for her!

I hope to be retired when I hit 70, Joe.  Though more power to Joyce, good for her.

Hi Joe... my comments:

  1. The good think about this business is that it doesn't have an "age" ceiling.
  2. As I get closer to my 70's it just doesn't seem so old anymore.
  3. I've been writing thank you notes to my lenders, paralegals, etc. for years after each closing. And I know they are appreciated because so few agents do this.
  4. Have a great, great day!

We just received a "thank you" card from a Realtor who had the buyer, saying how nice it was to work with us...We thought it was a very nice gesture...

It takes someone who loves what they do to still be at it in their late 70's. Good for her.

How wonderful.  One of our clients is also in her later 70's, and she still makes the top agents in the Wall Street Journal list.  She loves what she does, and she hired us to make sure the young whippersnappers who were nipping at her heels did not surpass her...and they have not.  A

And Nina Hollander It's not old. Believe me, I know.

I'll be honest Joe, I hope to have handed off the reigns to my brokerage at that point. I don't think I want to be actively practicing real estate in my 70's.

Good Morning Joe,

If you are talking about Joyce E., she is a wonderful lady. We attended the Strategic Planning for GHAR at Saybrook Point Inn this year.

Joyce took picture of me while belting out "Let's get together" then hit the dance floor afterwards. ERR.. there is no dance floor. We did make one though right there. She is full of zest and energy. It is fun to be around her.

This is a good story to share. A successful real estate professional does have the option of working until later years if that is what they enjoy.

Joe, anytime you love what you do, age shouldn't be a factor. And when one has a mortgage expert in their hip pocket, it always makes for a better transaction (and thus makes us look better. I have mine and I hope that we, too will go on for years and years).

It's one of those professions that allows for flexibility. If you want to work and can, then there's no mandatory retirement age and you can take on as much or as little as you like.

Nice....come back in a few/many years, and I'd think that'll be me.

If I'm not moving around, doing something, talking to someone, I'm convinced I'd cease to exist.  The family's already been warned...they know. So, I'll be selling real estate, or so I expect.
