“Her Real Estate Agent Finally Got It!”

 

 

I have been working with this client for nearly a year that had to remove a bunch of disputes, clean up 4 collections accounts and a public record item. It seemed every time I made a recommendation, her buddy/real estate agent kept saying something totally different. He kept telling her that he had read this or that online and each time she would let me know, but no matter what she would follow through with what I recommended to do.

 

The other day we were to a point that I could finally give her a pre-qualification letter and she is now on the path to home ownership. After she received the pre-qualification I got the note below:

 

Thank you and Tim now speaks very highly of you! Well we both do.

You certainly earned your stripes on that one. Although I don't know what her agents problem was in seeing that you were working for the best interests of your mutual client.

Hi Joe --- I'm assuming Tim is the agent -- if so, he should let each professional do what they do best.  Hopefully, this is a lesson learned.   

You consistently prove that you are the guy who knows how to get the job done -- honestly and professionally.

Joe,  We all have our job to do and we should stay within our lanes.  Some folks just think they can swerve over and try to do others' jobs as well.  Maybe it makes him feel smart and important when in reality it made him look like an idiot.

Joe you were lucky she listened to you.  Many time when someone decides to give advice they are not qualified to give it ends up messing things up.  Good thing your borrower knew who to listen to.

That's just crazy.  My go to answer for loan/credit what to do/questions is "That's not a Tammy question, it's a _____________(fill in loan officer name) question"  I do my part well and I have great referral partners for the other parts

Joe giving good advice is my goal i.e.: loan questions talk to a lender.... legal questions talk to an attorney... tax questions talk to an accountant... how hard is that for others to do as well? I do not get it, my clients love me because I refer them to experts who give them great advice...makes me look good too, Endre
