“Banks, Credit Unions and other Lenders are NOT My Competitors”
Some of my best referral sources are banks, credit unions and other lenders. On the flip side I refer them business all the time. I send them home equity lines, construction, car loans and other loans that we do not do or they can do better than we can.
I have a bank customer, XXXXXXXXXX, who lives here in town and is looking to refinance his home. He tried here last year and was turned down due to DTI ratio, but now has no car payments. Unfortunately, he did not have the best experience with our process due to an LO who is no longer with the bank. My main goal is to make sure he is well taken care of, and I know that he will be at Right Trac. Can I have him ask for you?
There are months that these referrals can make up 25% of the mortgages that I will do. They know that the business that is sent over will be treated well and they will keep the deposit relationship with them.

When we refer to lenders..it is not just to A LENDER it IS to a specific Loan officer who has the experience to get the job done !

I do the same thing though I do work for a bank. I find the client the best solution for their mortgage need even if I have to give them away to someone else. My goal is to serve the client rather than just myself.
Joe Credit Unions make great partners. A couple of them around here do not do FHA and end up referring me to the Borrower.
