“Thanks again Joe, look forward to working with you!”
Anytime you can talk someone off the ledge after a bad experience with an online mortgage company, you can make someone’s life a little better. This was the case on Friday.
She had gotten online to get pre-qualified and all went OK until she called the loan officer letting him know that the offer that she made on a property was accepted. After three days and many phone calls and emails with no response, she knew this was not good.
The listing agent called me, surprisingly not the selling agent as she was very new and really didn’t know what to do and real estate was only a part-time business. Fortunately she figured she should notify the listing agent and that is when I got the referral.
The client called within a few minutes and I took her through the pre-qualification process. She asked me what would be different working with me and it didn’t really take much convincing, but she was a bit cautious. After some discussion I made arrangements to do her mortgage application right after the home inspection.
It is unfortunate when loan officers stop communicating. Efficient communication is now more important than ever.

Yes, communication is key. I'm glad she is in good hands now.
Hi Joe. Your talking to her was more than the online mortgage company did.
Good morning Joe. Communiciation is key, not price or promises. Yours is a performance business. Enjoy your day!
Good morning Joe,
No communication ends in no referrals!
You are the King of referrals.
Make yourself a great day.
Good morning Joe. So sad that she had that negative experience. I know now she is in good hands.
Hi Joe!
Even the spammers like you!
Besides knowing the mortgage business, successful (and referred by agents) mortgage brokers have got to be responsive and communicative. That's one of the reasons you are so successful.
Online is out of sight for both our ilstings nad buyes...just say NO !
Hi Joe. Well done in coming to the rescue for this buyer. All to many folks fall for some lame promises made by these online companies.
Good Morning Joe:
Whenever a buyer approach me with an online prequal, I would insist that they use a local loan officer.
I am the kind of person who needs to be in contact with the loan officer and who feels more comfortable when I know they are local.
Another happy buyer on her way to home ownership, courtesy of Joe Petrowsky. Way to go, Joe!
Good morning Joe. Somethings never change. Responsive and knowledgeable people always win at the end of the day.
Joe, I shudder when a buyer comes to me with a financial letter from an out of state bank or someone online. It seldom ends well
It's hard to understand why people won't communicate with one another--why start in the first place if you're not intereted in completing the job? I'm glad the listing agent knew to call you.
Joe Petrowsky Of course the very basic need to return calls is the teller of the tale. Imagine getting further into the process and having the mortgage company unresponsive.

We hear all kinds of stories from buyers about their loan process. Nice that you were able to get this resolved for her.
My phone rings 24 hours EVERY day and I answer it ! Using an online service often leads to problems. I've rescued my share of Internet mortgage failures over the years and they seem to be getting more frequent lately.
Anyone working with you Joe is in good hands. If we are in business, our phones need to be on (within reason), particularly during normal business hours or, risk losing a client!
And Joe saves the day again...no surprise at all. Hopefully the part-time agent has learned a valuable lesson.
This is a good story to share. A loan officer who will not return phone calls will not meet your needs.
