“Newsletter Mix is a Tricky Business”

I am constantly getting emails from clients and referral partners after they receive my newsletter. I always think they would read more about mortgages, real estate or the economy and email about these topics but that is actually not the case at all.

Sure there will be mortgage related stuff, but I will add something about one or more of the other topics in the newsletter so as long as they are reading the newsletter it doesn’t matter to me, as long as we can keep the topics relevant.

Many of them are also reading my blogs and because they get my newsletter and it comes from my email, they make comments on a particular blog that I wrote rather than comment on the blog itself. I have never really understood why, but it is a pattern. As long as they are connecting with me that is all that matters.

I've read one of your newsletters before, and they do include all sorts of neat stories. You're getting people to respond to you, which is a key for them contacting you when they need mortgage solutions. Great job!

Posted by Kat Palmiotti, The House Kat (Grand Lux Realty, Monroe NY, 914-419-0270, kat@thehousekat.com) about 3 years ago

Thanks Joe.  Looks like your newsletter has plenty of content to get any ones attention.

Posted by Gabe Sanders, Stuart Florida Real Estate (Real Estate of Florida specializing in Martin County Residential Homes, Condos and Land Sales) about 3 years ago

Good morning Joe.  I give a Cutco knife with my name and phone number engraved on it.  Every time they use that knife they are reminded of who helped them get that home.  It works just keep on sending out those newsletters

Posted by James Dray, Exceptional Agents, Outstanding Results (Fathom Realty AR LLC) about 3 years ago

I've toyed around with the idea of writing a quarterly newsletter to send out to my area. I'm not sure how affective it would be.

Posted by Heidi Kelley, Your Rhode Island Real Estate Connection (Keller Williams Realty Leading Edge) about 3 years ago

I love the articles in the newsletter above and am going to read the entire articles.

Posted by Gita Bantwal, REALTOR,ABR,CRS,SRES,GRI - Bucks County & Philadel (RE/MAX Centre Realtors) about 3 years ago

Be glad that they are connecting the "communication dots
....it shows they are paying attention.

Posted by Sally K. & David L. Hanson, WI Realtors - Luxury - Divorce (EXP Realty 414-525-0563) about 3 years ago

That's great that they are reading and commenting.  Many don't realize they can comment on the blog post and/or some require them to create an acct (or they may think that it will), so it's just easier for them to respond.  Either way, it's good.

Posted by Debbie Gartner, The Flooring Girl & Blog Stylist -Dynamo Marketers (The Flooring Girl) about 3 years ago

Joe - I have done monthly newsletters since I started my business.  I have people comment when they see me that they read them.

Posted by Grant Schneider, Your Coach Helping You Create Successful Outcomes (Performance Development Strategies) about 3 years ago

Yes, as long as they are connecting...the reason isn't so important!

Hi Joe.  Wow!  Look at your new format for your Rain blog.  Very nice.

Posted by Conrad Allen, Webster, Ma, Realtor (Re/Max Professional Associates) about 3 years ago

Joe, as long as you are getting consistent name recognition, you are a winner! Enjoy your day!

Posted by Wayne Martin, Real Estate Broker - Retired (Wayne M Martin) about 3 years ago

Joe, as long as you don't use canned newsletters which so many use to stay in contact with clients it works.  Clients tell me they get the same thing from another agent as well as from a lender because they are all buying the same service...you have to be original to stand out I believe.  You are so good about staying in contact with clients.

Good morning, Joe Petrowsky 'as long as they are connecting with me that's all that matters" is the most important line in your post....and that should be read by all....

Good morning Joe. You're right....as long as they come. Mixing it up helps.

Keep up the good work.

Make yourself a great day.

Joe, they do enjoy reading about the market, but if we put something else in there of value, they are more apt to open them.
