I referred Betsy to you over a year ago; she is now ready to buy. She followed your advice and saved $10k, so it sounds like she has the down payment plus some closing costs. She is willing to offer $190k on a HUD property and borrow $200k to do the 203k repairs for some plumbing issues.
It took her just over a year to save up enough money for a down payment and some closing costs. This is a good lesson for all of us. This gal had no savings, but had a powerful commitment to own a home for her family.
This is a perfect example of a commitment being more powerful than having no money. It is so clear that when we commit ourselves to something that is truly important to us we can accomplish almost anything.
